OPEN INNOVATION DAYS

The UMETECH Open Innovation Days in Latin America are conceived as informative events in order to promote services, tools and technologies applicable in the cultural heritage sector, mainly targeting local businesses and the tourism sector in the ICT sector, professors and researchers, ICT technicians experts, local tour operators.
They will be held in Lima, Peru (12-13 OCTOBER 2017) and in Cordoba, Argentina (17-18 OCTOBER 2017).

Study tour at University Politehnica of Bucharest

Between 7 and 12 September 2017, colleagues from Universidad Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and Universidad de Piura visited the Center for Advanced Research on New Materials, Products and Innovative Processes – CAMPUS, at University Politehnica of Bucharest, for a study and experience exchange tour. Firstly, during a joint, on-site and webinar framework, they pursue with investigating multimedia classification techniques.

The courses were complemented by visits at the research labs and with hands-on sessions for some real-world machine based applications. Through both fundamental and practical implementations, participants achieved engineering and research skills for developing high-tech cultural heritage applications, specific to each need. The visit tour concluded with an official reception at the Embassy of the Republic of Peru, where future cooperation was discussed and a cooperation agreement between the universities was signed.

UPCOMING UMETECH courses

The second tranche of courses delivered by UMETECH is upcoming!
Claudio Baecchi, researcher at MICC University of Florence, will lecture Mobile Programming 2, available via webinar on 10, 11, 12 and 14 July 2017.
“Pre-processing of visual information” and “Multimedia content representation” will be held by Bogdan Ionescu (University Politehnica of Bucharest) respectively on 17, 18 and from 24 to 27 July 2017.

UMETECH courses: 3D Modeling and Scanning & Mobile Programming

The UMETECH crew is ready to provide the first two courses of the Academic Staff Training Program!
The first one, 3D Modeling and Scanning, lectured by Mohamed Daoudi (IMT Lille Douai), will be available via webinar on 22 and 23 June and 3,4 and 5 July 2017.
Mobile Programming, lectured by Andrea Ferracani and Simone Ercoli, will be held on 26,27,28 and 29 June 2017.
