facebook connector configuration

Playing around with wordpress and facebook, I just found a good connector plugin that works fine with 2.7

The screencast for plugin configuration on the website is really useful, but most of the comments on the blog show that people have problems while configuring the application on facebook.

I solved inserting what is called the “callback url” in the “connect” configuration tab, as shown in this shot:

facebook-connector-config

you can leave a comment if you find it useful

  2. Hi,

Nice job getting Facebook Connect to work! I am having trouble. I followed all the steps and put the URL of my blog in the Connect URL field. Is there anything else I have to do during the setup? This is the error message I get when trying to login through Facebook Connect on my blog…

    Invalid Argument
The Facebook Connect cross-domain receiver URL (http://theyankeeblog.com/wp-content/plugins/fbconnect/xd_receiver_ssl.htm#fname=_opener&%7B%22t%22%3A3%2C%22h%22%3A%22fbCancelLogin%22%2C%22sid%22%3A%220.551%22%7D) must have the application’s Connect URL (http://www.theyankeeblog.com/) as a prefix. You can configure the Connect URL in the Application Settings Editor.

    My blog URL is http://www.theyankeeblog.com

    Thanks for the help

  3. it seems you simply have to remove “www” in the connect url of your facebook application…

  4. Thanks, it’s the very step that makes it works!

  5. Thanks, now it works :)

  6. Removing the WWW is a great and important point. Thanks!

  9. Hi there!!!
My name is Sujit. Am also using FB Connect at my blog. Its at http://netsujit.com

Unfortunately I am having a problem. If i write a comment on a post, it doesnt publish in facebook and shows some strange error code mentioned below:
Supplied template data does not cover the following tokens [blog-url, blog-name, post-url, post-title] needed for template ‘{*actor*} commented on the {*blog-name*} blog post \”{*post-title*}\”.’ You can see this because you are one of the developers of the app.

I can’t get any help from sociable.es site… and therefore i m forced to trouble you. Can you help me out how to solve this thing

  10. I’m sorry mate, I’m not one of the devs for sociable, You’d really need a support from them…

    Hi

I did all the installation properly however when I click the FB Connect button and I get the pop up with signing on my site actually loads within this popup..

    Any solution to this?!

  12. Roland

Sujit, I had the same problem and many blogs didn’t have exact results so I looked in the php files and I noticed they’re giving you the wrong names for the template keywords (blog-title, blog-url, etc)….

In the fbConnect options page on wordpress create a new template by editing the text boxes for One Line, Short & Full stories like below:
    For blog url & name use {*blogname*}
For post url & name use {*post_title*} Note the underscore
{*body*} and {*body_short*} remain the same.

Hope you’ll get the notification that I’ve replied.
